How do I Know a Practitioner is Suitably trained?

Anyone can call themselves a Nutritionist or Nutritional Therapist, so how do you know that the person who is advising you is adequately trained?

Make sure they have up to date membership of BANT and the CNHC.

BANT registers Nutritional Therapy practitioners that have attended and passed nationally accredited courses that they recognise to give training to a very high standard.  They also register some long term practitioners that have undergone rigorous assessment under their own system.

If a practitioner is BANT registered you know they have been highly trained in Nutritional Therapy often to post graduate standard. BANT requires members to partake in regular Continuing Professional Development.

CNHC is a government backed organisation for complementary therapists. It only accepts members who can demonstrate a high standard of training in their field. It ensures that members are fully insured and abide by strict codes of conduct. It also requires members to partake in regular Continuing Professional Development.
